SRIJATI ~ a centre for arts

Srijati is a research oriented centre for art and culture based in Kolkata (India). It has few branches and has been functioning successfully since 2000, it is mainly involved with dance works with specialisation in Odissi ( a classical dance form ) and experimental innovative dance choreographies and research activities.

As a school, Srijati imparts training in Odissi dance, Creative Dance and Visual Arts. It organizes workshops and lecture demonstrations on different art forms.Srijati gives special attention in enhancing the creativity of its students. It provides its students a professional platform to express their talents.

Srijati also acts as a dance troupe. As a dance troupe, under the able guidance of Srinwanti, it has widely performed in many prestigious national level cultural festivals throughout India and their works have been highly acclaimed. To name a few, the troupe has performed in the states of Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Kerala, Assam, Rajasthan, Sikkim and West Bengal.

The artistic team of Srijati has successfully launched productions over the years which have been very much appreciated.

Since the last few years, Srijati has been undertaking a creative venture. It organizes an annual cultural festival called “AHAN”, which aims towards a new perspective in performing arts. To us, Art is a source of energy, a life giving force and Srijati attempts to exemplify this commitment of Art through its offering "AHAN".
